What I love about being a midwife is that I get to bring my whole self to every visit, every birth, every family I work with. I'm able to integrate body, mind and spirit into my midwifery practice.

I work to inspire the same for my clients. In preparing for childbirth, I encourage birthing people and their families to be knowledgeable, to practice body awareness and to strengthen and maintain their spirituality.

I find that those who are able to nurture these aspects of themselves, have more resources to call upon when venturing into the unknowns of labor.

I cover all of this and more in my childbirth class which is included in my care. When I say care, I don’t mean what you would expect at a doctor’s office. I mean I actually care about my clients and their well being. We spend enough time together to build a relationship, and we learn to trust one another.

The following is a brief list of what can be expected in my care:

  •  Complete prenatal care: including hour long visits, nutrition recommendations, comfort measures, some lab work, listening to the baby's heartbeat and checking for adequate growth.

  • Labor and Birth support: including checking maternal vital signs, providing comfort measures, encourage birth in whichever position you choose, this includes waterbirth, assisting the birthing person or partner in catching the baby if desired, performing a newborn exam, monitoring blood loss, and handling emergencies should they arise.

  • Postpartum care: including visits to your home at 24 hours, 3 days and 8 days. With office visits at 2 weeks and 6 weeks postpartum, breastfeeding support, the newborn screen, weight checks for baby, and well being check ups for the birth parent.

I am able to bill most insurance companies, but not Medicaid. My biller is at MidwivesAdvantage.com and you can verify benefits for free! Reach out to me to find out how. For self-pay clients, I offer a significant cash discount and I work with people to make a payment plan that works for them if need be. Also I am now working with a lender to finance small loans.
